Privacy Policy

dexHive knows that you care how information about you is used and shared. This notice describes dexHive’ privacy policy for its web site (the “Site”) including all online services and functions.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Your use of and/or registration with dexHive will constitute your agreement to our policy. If you cannot agree to the terms and conditions set forth below, please do not use our services. Additionally, our Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Use, and by using dexHive you agree to both.

General

dexHive is an open platform that provides indices, inventories lists and catalogs (“Indices”) for exchange of information and opinions.

Any content you add or any change that you make to the Indices will be publicly and permanently available.

dexHive goal is to allow your participation to remain as anonymous as you choose.

Participating in dexHive does not require you to provide personal details like your real name, address, or date of birth.

dexHive does not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

dexHive uses the information collected from you only to make the Site better, more engaging, accessible and safe.

dexHive shares your information in limited circumstances only, such as to comply with the law or to protect against fraudulent, abusive or unlawful use of this Site.

dexHive uses reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Information Collected

User Contributions

The content you post to any Index (each a “User Contribution”) is not private.

When you post content to any Index, you are creating a permanent, public record of every piece of content added, removed, or altered by you.

User Contribution is not deleted from our servers, and will still be accessible after your account is deleted.

User Contributions are publicly visible and can be found by search engines. Please do not contribute any information that you are uncomfortable making permanently public, like revealing your real name or location in your contributions.

You should be aware that specific data made public by you or aggregated data that is made public by us can be used by anyone for analysis and to infer information about users.

Information Required for Registration

Email Address

Your email address is kept confidential, except as provided in this Policy. We do not sell, rent, or use your email address to advertise third-party products or services to you.

We may use your email address to let you know important information about your account, or let you know if something is changing about the Site or policies.

Username and Password

Your username will be publicly visible, so please be careful about choosing your username.

Your password is hashed in storage, kept confidential, and is only used to verify that the account is yours. We will never ask for your password by email (but may send you a link to reset your password via email if you have requested a password reset).

Information Related to Your Use of the Site

When you visit the Site, we receive some information automatically. This information includes your IP address, the type of device you are using, the type and version of your browser, your browser's language preference, the type and version of your device's operating system, in some cases the name of your internet service provider or mobile carrier, the website that referred you to the Site, which pages you request and visit, and the date and time of each request you make to the Site.

In addition, we may actively collect some types of information with a variety of commonly-used technologies. These generally include tracking pixels, JavaScript, and a variety of "locally stored data" technologies, such as cookies and localstorage. For example, we may use cookies to know your language preference or to remember your user preferences so we can provide you with customized look and feel; we may use localstorage to store your most recently read Indices directly on your device, so they can be retrieved quickly; or we may use cookies to learn about your searches so that we can optimize the search results we deliver to you.

All information related to your use of the site is kept confidential, except as provided in this Policy. We do not sell, rent, or use information related to your use of the Site to advertise third-party products or services to you.

Please note that your web browser may allow you to remove or disable some or all locally stored data cookies on your computer. While locally stored data may not be necessary to use our Site, some features may not function properly if you disable locally stored data.

Communications with Others

Direct communications between users (such as messages sent through the “Message this user” feature), to the extent such communications are nonpublic and stored in or in transit through dexHive systems, are kept confidential by us, except as provided in this Policy.

Communications between users through dexHive is made anonymously.

When you send a message to another user through the “Message this user” feature, the receiver of the message will not be able to identify you or see your email address, but will only see your username. Likewise, when you reply to an email message received from another user, the receiver of your message will not be able to identify you or see your email address, but will only see your username.

Feedback to dexHive

dexHive has feedback functionality on the Site that allows you to submit comments, suggestions, or bugs found. dexHive may collect your name or username and email address in order to follow up with you or thank you for a suggestion.

Release of Information

Release of Information for Legal Reasons

dexHive may release information concerning your use of this Site (including, but not limited to, User Contribution, registration information, and network records) when it believes in good faith that such release is appropriate to comply with the law (for example, pursuant to a statutory demand, subpoena, warrant or court order), to protect against fraudulent, abusive or unlawful use of this Site, to protect dexHive's rights or property, enforce any contract between you and dexHive, or if dexHive reasonably believes that a situation involving danger of death or injury to any person requires disclosure.

Service Providers

dexHive may release information concerning your use of this Site to third-party service providers or contractors who help run or improve the Site. We may give access to your personal information to these providers or contractors as needed to perform their services for us or to use their tools and services. We put requirements, such as confidentiality agreements, in place to help ensure that these service providers treat your information consistently with, and no less protective of your privacy than, the principles of this Policy.

Business or Asset Transfer or Sale

dexHive may be sold, might sell or buy businesses or assets of businesses, or dexHive might merge with another business. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. In such event, dexHive will make reasonable effort continue to keep your personal information confidential, except as provided in this Policy, and provide notice on the Site and to notify you via email to the most recent email address that you have provided to dexHive of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

For that purpose we use a variety of physical and technical measures, policies, and procedures, such as access control procedures, network firewalls, and physical security. Nevertheless, no data transmission over the internet is completely secure, and can't guarantee that our security will not be breached, either by technical measures or through violation of our policies and procedures. Your use of the Site is at your own risk, and you are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account (such as carefully maintaining the secrecy of your password).
